Being alone and feeling lonely are two very distinct ideas. Being alone builds you, allowing personal discovery of your true self, sets you thinking and reflecting over what you have done and probably better your nature while solitude kills: the notion of having no one who cared about your being.

Truth is, sometimes, you have to be alone. There are so many things we haven't found out about our very own selves. There are things we need to learn, alone.
